Twan first developed as a coach within the sports world where he was a handball coach at the premier league level. From there he had the opportunity to develop within organizations as a team coach. First at middle management level and grown to become a board member of a health insurance company. Twan teaches at various Master's programs in the field of HRM, personal leadership, team development and change management.

Twan is considered mister action learning in the Netherlands. Worldwide, he is one of ten Master Action Learning Coaches, of which there are three in Europe. He has been trained and coached by Prof. Dr. Michael Marquardt and Prof. Dr. Bea Carson, with direct roots to Prof. Reg Revans, the grounded father of action learning. He has helped countless teams, departments and entire organizations in virtually all sectors in growing into high performing action learning teams and in creating an action learning Community of Practice. Twan has also guided hundreds of people in the Action Learning program to become coaches.

He completed the Action Learning MBA in 2002 and has held the title MALC (Master Action Learning Coach) for many years.

Twan is the creator of the Team Performance Loop. He has been a board member of WIAL global for eight years. Within TEAM WIAL NL, Twan is director of Action Learning, program manager of high performing action learning teams at client programs and spends most of the week as a Master Action Learning coach guiding teams at clients.
